REQUIREMENTS:
- Passion for working with children and helping them succeed
- Previous experience not required – training and certification will be provided in-house or off-site
- Ability to work in the water for extended periods of time
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork
- Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures
- Successful completion of Swim Instructor training is required during initial on-boarding training (training provided on-site)
- Lifeguard certification is required, must be obtained within 60 days of hiring (training and certification provided on-site or off-site)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide swim instruction based on the Blue Gems Swim School curriculum
- Enforce safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents
- Assess pre-lesson and post-lesson progress according to the swim level objectives provided, and complete required paperwork in a timely manner
- Effectively communicate progress and feedback to students and their parents or guardians, ensure customer satisfaction
- Inspect pool areas before and after classes for possible maintenance, cleanliness or damage issues. Report issues to management as appropriate
- Place and remove lane lines, perform light cleaning duties around pool deck
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
